We have helped our local primary school to make the most of its grounds by designing interventions in the underused or inaccessible parts of its site. These provide a range of spaces including quiet spots for reflection; covered areas for eating lunch; a spiritual garden; and multi-use seating, reading and teaching areas.
We provided concept sketches for each space in response to the school’s need to provide smaller, more intimate environments to reflect the wide range of activities that take place at break-times and to support teaching work. As funds become available for implementation we are supporting the school with further detail design and implementation advice.
