We’ve recently been appointed to design a new community hub and cafe in Heavitree Pleasure Ground. A lovely little project for a lively and involved community. Here’s a sneak preview of some of the ideas submitted with our proposal, although the design process will all start from scratch hand in hand with a detailed development discussion with the client group.

Timber frame extension starts

26th June 2016

This week work starts on a ground floor side and rear extension for one of our projects very close to home here in Pinhoe. The project replaces an existing garage and conservatory to increase living spaces and enlarge the kitchen as well as to provide a spare bedroom. The new living spaces will have a wide south-facing view over the garden connecting this much more openly to the house, and more fluidly to each other.

Dark skies

We all know that light pollution is at a minimum in the least developed parts of our country; now the Campaign for Rural England has released interactive maps revealing the country’s least and most light-polluted areas. It’s not a surprise that London contains 19 out of England’s 20 brightest areas; we’re pleased to note that West Devon is near the top of the list in dark spots. Discovering Dartmoor

Fantastically organised 32.5 mile road race around Dartmoor today; huge thanks to Teignbridge Trotters who laid on the really uplifting and well supported Dartmoor Discovery race. A toughy, warm and hazy today, but beautiful out there and found some great spots to revisit.
