53 Langaton Lane: loft conversion
Services provided: full architectural design services to completion
Completion: February 2012
Careful consideration of the structural insertions has led to achieving a spacious bedroom with en-suite and walk-in wardrobe, whilst still retaining some loft storage space, in this project which required the almost complete re-construction of the original roof.
Converting the hipped roof to a gable and providing a rear box dormer gives generous headroom, whilst the staircase, which is always a key element to a successful loft conversion, has been designed to bring light through the house and provide a novel storage solution.
Ian Callard & Sons provided careful attention to programming the works to work around the occupied premises, ensured a safe and dry transition while the roof was being removed and rebuilt in November and December 2011, and finished the project to a good standard and under budget.
