Archive 2015

December 2015: Christmas break: We will be closed for Christmas from 22nd Dec to 4th Jan incl. We will deal with all messages and correspondence on our return. We wish you all a very peaceful break.

November 2015: End of year: It’s been another busy year, and we remain so as we turn the corner into December. Projects draw to a close and more doors open. Thank-you to all those we’ve worked with, and for, so far. At this time of year we traditionally give a donation to various charities; this year we have decided to look at schools near and far. Firstly, very close to home and as a thank-you to the teachers and staff at Pinhoe Primary School for the brilliant experience our son has had there, we have donated some sports equipment that the children will thoroughly enjoy using. Further afield, we have sent a donation to School in a Bag, who help bring educational tools to children across the world who might not otherwise be given this valuable start in life.

October 2015: Project news: Works at Force Cancer Charity shop in Heavitree draw to a conclusion as do four other projects that have been on site over the summer. We continue to start new projects on extensions and loft conversions, along with a barn conversion, and also to help out a practice we have long-term collaboration links with, on CCF designs in Wales.

August 2015: Summer break: Please note the office will be closed between 17th and 28th August incl. Whatever your plans, enjoy your summer.

July 2015: Nello Century Challenge: Many thanks to all of you who supported us last month, raising over £1,000 for Force Cancer Charity. I’ve just about recovered from 100 miles on the bike: you can see the video here and spot me and my ‘support crew’ getting breakfast before we set off. Note just how much rain there was…

June 2015: Project news: A flurry of projects are on site at the moment, in different stages: a refurbishment drawing to a close; three extensions have started and are making the most of good weather to prepare foundations; a loft conversion is about to start; and tendered works move towards commencement later in the summer. Let’s hope we get a proper summer for it. Other news: Mary has joined us more formally as ‘proper staff’ to shoulder administrative load and help grow the business. Sean is making the most of the dry weather to get in as much training for the Nello as possible – so apologies in advance if he turns up to your next meeting on his bike or dressed in lycra.

April 2015: Project news: More referrals have delivered new enquiries and projects for us this month. Our extension to a Listed building in Heavitree Conservation Area progresses well on site, making the most of the good weather. We continue to develop proposals at two churches as well as drawing works to a close at Pinhoe Church. Other news: On June 28th Sean will be riding 100 miles over Exmoor in the Nello charity cycle ride, in aid of Force Cancer Charity (with whom we are working at their Heavitree shop). Please look up the work of this fantastic local charity here; full event details here. This is one of Force’s biggest annual fundraisers and all support is greatly appreciated; for me, this is my first long-distance outing on a bike so will be a new challenge.

March 2015: Project news: My word, what a busy first quarter! We’ve had projects start and finish on site, others ongoing, and maintenance work drawing to a close on the local church. In amongst this we have secured several new commissions as well as progressing projects ‘on the drawing board’ and taking several to tender. More specific project news soon. Other:  This weekend (March 15th) we’re joining our friends on a big family bike ride in support of Interface Uganda. Please look up the charity. Later in the year Sean embarks on his first long cycle event, the Nello, for Force Cancer Charity, who we are currently working for at their shop premises in Heavitree.
